There’s nothing more comforting than a Dutch Oven simmering away on a snowy day.  Whether it’s an all-day braise warming the house, and infusing it with aromas, or a loaf of bread waiting to be slathered with butter, a Dutch Oven is an essential tool for cooking comfort foods of all kinds.

That’s why since the founding of Made In, we’ve obsessed over perfecting the design of our Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven. We worked with the best partners in Northeast France to bring over a century of craftsmanship to your table.

There are many reasons to fall in love with our Dutch Oven, but here are our three favorites.

Cast Iron Core

The best Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Ovens are made in France, which is why we refused to make them elsewhere. Forged in a factory in Northeast France that’s been producing world-class Enameled Cast Iron since the 1920s, this piece brings a century of craftsmanship to the table.

Our Dutch Oven is made with high-performance Cast Iron. This sturdy frame retains heat exceptionally well, so you can sear your meat in batches or simmer stews without worrying about the temperature fading off. Best of all, because of Cast Iron’s durability, it will last for decades to come.

Hand-Applied Enamel

Once the cast iron is poured and molded into our 5.5 Dutch Oven Shape, it gets sprayed by hand with a layer of enamel. Treating the cast iron body with enamel prevents rusting, allows you to cook acidic ingredients, and requires no seasoning. Best of all, it’s extremely easy to clean.

Cloud Cover Lid

After thoughtfully designing the body of our Dutch Oven with durable cast iron and a thin layer of enamel, we turned our attention to the lid.

Our lid not only traps steam perfectly, but it is also engineered with pea-sized dimples that evenly return steam to your food, effectively basting whatever you’re cooking. This results in perfectly tender braises, crusty bread with an airy interior, and perfectly roasted chicken, every single time.
